THE PROJECT

BETWEEN SPORT AND STREET ART

Mantoflex and Moneyless present “Abstract Sport Grounds & Urban”: a project that turns the surfaces of sports facilities, cycle paths and urban areas into street-art works. The collaboration brings together urban art, sport and the culture of the city, creating an engaging experience for the community.
Colour and geometry define playing surfaces and outdoor areas, changing how sports and civic space is seen and used. Unique works, inspired by the forms and landscape of each place, bring colour to sports courts, cycle paths, concrete or asphalt urban areas, public and private parks, and leisure spaces.

The project goes beyond the traditional layout of a playing area and involves the public in an artistic regeneration of the space. Players and spectators come into visual and physical contact with the works, so the flooring itself becomes a new, stimulating place.
The aim is to combine sport and art, creating opportunities to meet and raising awareness, and places for cultural proposals that are alternative, inclusive and popular. In this way, sporting events and the life of shared spaces reflect the creativity and energy of local communities.

MONEYLESS

STREET ARTIST

Moneyless, the artistic name of Teo Pirisi, is a renowned urban artist born in Milan in 1980 and raised in Lucca. After graduating in Multimedia from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Carrara, he specialised in Communication and Design at the ISIA in Florence.
His artistic roots are in the graffiti scene of the 1990s. He soon left traditional writing and, while keeping the expressive force of graffiti, focused on the purity of form and the study of geometry as a way of understanding and constituting nature itself.
His art, as his name suggests, is an inquiry into the purity and simplicity of life. Moneyless’s vision means rejecting speed, pollution and the other pressures of contemporary life, and concentrating instead on formal and intellectual purity.
Through steady, consistent experimentation, Moneyless has developed a unique and immediately recognisable style. He moved beyond the Platonic solids of his early work and later circular forms, dispersing them in space as “lines”, “rotations”, “movements” and “fragmentations”. This exploration has placed him among the pioneers and masters of abstract muralism in Italy and abroad, and within the well-known GRAFFUTURISM family of abstract urban artists from around the world.
Moneyless is now regarded as one of the most important international urban artists. His works have been painted on buildings and in public spaces on every continent. They are held in prestigious public and private collections, and he has exhibited in galleries and museums in Italy and worldwide.

WHY DO IT?

NEW OPPORTUNITIES

Sport and art together create opportunities to meet and raise awareness, giving rise to cultural proposals that are alternative, inclusive and popular.

These innovative urban spaces attract an ever wider public, while athletes also come to experience the artistic beauty of the court.

MANY ADVANTAGES

*

A setting for athletes that becomes attractive, drawing players in for its uniqueness and then winning them over through the technology, comfort and playing safety of Mantoflex courts.

*

A one-of-a-kind space that becomes the ideal setting for major sporting events, generating new business opportunities and a positive image, and attracting the attention of the media and the local community.

*

Active involvement of the people who use the facilities, making them protagonists and visitors of an artistic regeneration. The court, or the area where the work is created, is not only something beautiful to look at: it is a meeting point between art and sport to be lived in and used.

*

Enhancement of the urban context through an artistic intervention inspired by the forms, history and colours of the place.

HOW DO WE WORK?

A FEW SIMPLE STEPS

This is how we proceed when a client wants a Mantoflex court created with Moneyless’s artwork:

1

We start from general and detail photographs of the spaces and the surrounding area, so the artwork can be designed in line with the architectural and landscape forms that will host it;

2

Moneyless prepares sketch proposals, which are discussed with the client so the artwork to be created is defined precisely;

3

Once the project is approved, the court is built, and only when the “canvas” is complete does the street artist create the agreed composition.
