From digital life to new consumption models, an analysis of the tensions that have defined our way of life in 2025.
2025 was a year marked by a series of contradictions that have not been resolved, but have found new forms. The first concerns digital: we demand simplicity, but we live connected to a system that amplifies complexity. We spend our days reducing notifications, filters, and streams, and at the same time we depend on platforms that fuel continuous attention. It's an artificial balance, which works as long as we accept it without asking too many questions.
Another evident tension is that of consumption. We talk about sustainability more than ever, but the data show that the demand for premium and luxury products continues to grow. It's a well-known paradox, but in 2025 it has become more acute. Clear: the desire for durable objects coexists with a purchasing rate that remains high. This is not inconsistency, it is the snapshot of a society that seeks stability through objects, while the context remains uncertain.
Work has also experienced a year of fluctuations. Flexibility was celebrated as an achievement, but it clashed with the reality of indefinite hours and increasingly blurred boundaries between private and professional life. The promise of freedom has generated, in many cases, a sense of dispersion: the possibility of working anywhere does not equate to the ability to live better.
In this scenario, well-being has become a collective goal and, at the same time, an ambiguous terrain. Personal care practices, investments in sports, and attention to mental health are growing. But the pressure to perform in every area, including seacute; management, is also growing. The result is A well-being that requires constant commitment, almost a new form of discipline.
The 2025 budget, more than a point of arrival, is an invitation to look at these contradictions without seeking quick fixes. They are the language of our era: they coexist, overlap, and test us. Understanding them does not mean solving them, but learning to live with them with greater clarity.
