Between summer and autumn 2025, evening events dedicated to runners are multiplying in Italy: not just races, but experiences to be enjoyed with music, landscapes and personal performance. Here are the most fascinating night races to mark on your agenda.
1. Moonlight Half Marathon ndash; Jesolo
One of the most iconic races in Italy, it takes place among pine forests, beaches and the seafront. The atmosphere is evocative: you start at sunset and run with the moon above the Adriatic Sea. Suitable for both competitive runners and those seeking a unique experience.
2. Stelvio Night Race ndash; Alto Adige
Not for everyone: 14 km uphill among the hairpin bends of the Stelvio Pass, with a night start. Running at over 2,700 meters above sea level is an extreme challenge, but also a symbolic journey. The mountain, at night, has a rare energy.
3. Venice Night Trail ndash; Venice (October 2025)
Streets, bridges, canals and silence. An out-of-the-ordinary urban race, where every step is a dive into history. The race is 16 km between romantic views and technical sections, with a night start and finish. Venice becomes a poetic labyrinth to run through.
4. Palermo International Half Marathon ndash; Mondello
Even if not officially “night race”, the evening start and the route that touches the Mondello coast give the atmosphere of a summer sunset run. Perfect for those who love combining sport and cultural trips, between art, sea and Sicilian gastronomy.
5. StraLugano Night Run ndash; Lugano
An international event a stone's throw from Italy. The opening night race of the StraLugano winds along the lake, on a short but spectacular route. Music, street food and lights make this night of sport a convivial and engaging occasion.
6. Corsa dei Santi ndash; Rome
It is not exactly a night race, but it is run at dawn, when the city is still shrouded in silence. Starting from St. Peter's Square, passing in front of the monuments, and a golden light that makes the experience unique. Rome, thus, is discovered with open eyes and a racing heart.

Night running is also a choice of style. More intimate, more reflective, less crowded. It is a sport that becomes landscape, a body that becomes shadow, light that passes through fatigue.
